About me
Dr. Rebecca McKinney serves as the Director of Gifted Education at the Colorado Department of Education. With over two decades of experience, she is committed to building inclusive, responsive systems that recognize and nurture the potential of all gifted learners. Her work focuses on expanding access for culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students, as well as twice-exceptional learners. She holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching with a concentration in Gifted Education from the University of Denver and a master’s in Special Education: Gifted and Talented from the University of Northern Colorado.
